 | Kantha Square
The Kantha Embroidery is one of the traditional village crafts practiced in West Bengal and Bihar. This craft is about 300 years old. The procedure consists of four steps. First, four pieces of old Sari are sewn together. Second, weaving designs are sketched on it. Third, outline of the design is sewed and finally designs are filled by kantha stitches using multicolored threads. The stitch is predominantly a traditional craft of West Bengal. Its artistic Designs, motifs and stitching on sarees, dress materials, shawls, bed covers etc.
